Now that we’re done pretending I have a biographer, besides believing my blue light glasses actually work, I love cooking for my friends, always having a ruler on hand, to-do lists, deep questions, 70’s dad rock and my precious record player.

Minted                 Brand Identity / 2025
I have been collecting currency since I was a kid, ever since my parents brought back bills from their work trips. Over time I became fascinated with their design. For this project, I created a visual identity system for a gallery exhibit celebrating the artistry of global currencies. Using microprinting, color shifts, and motifs, the system reflects how money functions as a piece of coded visual language.

Symbolic emblems and a topographic illustration tracing the origins of the first currency note in Sichuan, China.

While creating the exhibition ticket, I referred to the science that currency designers use. I used holographic paper to mimic optically variable ink that helps authenticate bills. The black forms that can be seen are silver foil stickers that cannot be scanned to replicate copy detection measures. I designed it so the blue iridescence only appears when hit with a scanner to make it accurate.
